Murasaki Moon
October 2026 Sake Club Release
Murasaki Moon is our October Sake Club release: a Junmai Ginjo flavored with black currant and orange peel.
The sake begins with Arkansas-grown rice polished to 60%, which means 40% of each grain is milled away before brewing. This creates the clean Junmai Ginjo base beneath the fruit.
Murasaki Moon pours a light purple, inspiring its name: murasaki is the Japanese word for purple. Its aroma is led by black currant with a grapey characte.
The palate begins sweet and fruit-forward. Black currant remains the dominant flavor, bringing its natural tartness and slight astringency, while orange peel adds a subtle citrus accent in the background. At 14–15% ABV, the sake carries noticeable warmth through the finish. That warmth gradually turns dry and peppery, leaving a lingering fruit character on the tongue.
A colorful sake created for the beginning of fall and cooler October nights the purple hue a perfect match for the Halloween season.
